Hiking Writer & Tatra Trail Specialist

Based in Krakow, Poland • Tatra hiker since 2016

Hassan is a Jordanian-born writer and outdoor enthusiast who has been hiking the Tatra Mountains regularly since 2016. He relocated to Krakow for work and found the mountains a two-hour drive from his front door. Over nine years he has walked every major trail in the Polish Tatras, from the easy valley walks to the technical ridge routes, and has a particular focus on routes that work for Muslim families, older travelers, and visitors with strollers.

About Hassan

Hassan's approach to trail writing is practical and family-focused. He hikes every route he writes about, testing it for stroller accessibility, prayer spot availability, water access for Wudu, and the availability of halal-safe food at mountain shelters. He has taken his own children (now aged 7 and 10) on most of the accessible trails, which gives him a ground-level perspective on what actually works for a family with young children.

Hassan holds a Certificate in Mountain Safety from the Polish Mountain Guide Association and has completed a wilderness first aid course. He writes trail guides with safety as a primary concern, particularly regarding Tatra weather, which can change rapidly.

Editorial Standards

All trail times, distances, and difficulty ratings in Hassan's guides reflect his personal experience hiking those routes. He notes seasonal differences where they matter and updates his guides after each seasonal visit to check for trail changes, new facilities, or altered access arrangements.
